embodied Movement Series 1
Flow 1 : I explore my body's wisdom
INTENTION:
I connect to the content of my inner world. I connect to my body on a deeper level.
DESCRIPTION:
Interesting and explorative movement. No static holds. We move more freely, without rules and regulations – but with a deep sense of connection to the body’s guidance. There is still power to this flow, and if you’re moving intuitively and with breath, you should definitely find yourself sweating! Handstand practice and forearm practice are offered along with other dynamic postures
Connecting by feeling, listening and tuning in. Using the body to connect us to our deeper energetic and emotional bodies.
EXPLORATION:
Feeling into the deeper layers of our selves. Starting to explore and enjoy freer and more intuitive movement. Moving somatically rather than allowing our brains to lead.
Flow 2 : My heart is my greatest teacher
INTENTION:
I rest in my heart.
DESCRIPTION:
Heart-opening practice focusing on the energetic heart centre. Starting in meditation, we centre and focused on the heart space. No chair poses. Lunges, wild things, dancer’s pose, camel pose
EXPLORATION:
Balancing the heart chakra through mind and body. Dynamic and fluid movement.
Flow 3 : Power & Grace
INTENTION:
Sthira Sikhm Asanam – Steady & light.
DESCRIPTION:
Starting by grounding, quietening the mind, focusing on the breath. Opening up slowly. Moving through sun salutations A’s and B’s, practising inversions (if you want to). More traditional poses – warrior II and trikonasana, but adding in fluidity of movement to these poses.
EXPLORATION:
Cultivating a synergy between grace & power. Leaning into grace, then power, then both together, ending in pure grace.
Flow 4 : I am the ocean, I move like a wave
INTENTION:
I surrender to the fluidity of life.
DESCRIPTION:
We begin with a meditation. Tuning into our own fluidity – we are over 60% water. Starting slowly with embodied movement, then we go into some creative, dynamic and fluid flows. Plenty of power, but always moving with grace.
EXPLORATION:
Water-like, fluid movement.
Flow 5 : I move to the rhythm of my breath
INTENTION:
I am with the breath. I follow the wisdom of the breath and I move to the rhythm of my breath.
DESCRIPTION:
Starting in Tadasana (mountain pose) to settle into the breath, we then go straight into powerful and graceful movement. The sequence builds as we go, adding in some forearm stands if you like! Plenty of power, you’ll be sweaty but calm by the end of the class.
EXPLORATION:
Playing with the rhythm, fluidity, dance-like movements. We are moving with power and grace. A deep exploration of breath synchronised with movement.
